Class Descriptions & Attire

Acro and Tumbling classes focus on developing strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, concentration, and muscle control. Dancers will learn acrobatic techniques and how they apply to other forms of dance.
Attire: Students may wear leotards, footless tights, shorts, tight fitting tshirts/tank tops, etc. Students are required to be barefoot. All hair should be secured back in a ponytail or bun.

A classical dance form demanding grace and precision and employing formalized steps and gestures set in intricate, flowing patterns to create expression through movement.
Attire: Female students should be dressed in black leotards and pink tights with their hair neatly secured in a bun. Male dancers should wear a plain white t-shirt and black bottoms. Ballet shoes are required.

Combo allows the students to sample the dance styles of Ballet and Tap within an hour long class. Classes include tap and ballet technique along with creative movement activities.
Attire: Students may wear leotards, tights, dance skirts/shorts. Tap and Ballet shoes are required. All hair should be secured back in a ponytail or bun.

Combo III allows the students to sample the dance styles of Ballet, Tap, and Jazz within one continuous class. Classes include tap, ballet, and jazz technique along with creative movement activities.

Hip Hop is a fast-paced, high-energy form of dance with an emphasis less on formal technique and more on personal style. Classes include stretching, strengthening, and hip hop techniques and tricks.
Attire: Students may wear tshirts, sweatpants, dance shorts, etc. Sneakers may be worn or students can dance barefoot. All hair should be secured back in a ponytail or bun.

Jazz is a fun, high-energy style of dance. Class includes strength, flexibility, and conditioning techniques with progressions including turns, kicks and leaps.

Lyrical dance is a style that combines ballet and jazz dancing techniques. It is performed to music with lyrics so that it inspires expression of strong emotions the choreographer feels from the lyrics of the song. Classes include stretching, strengthening, turn & leap techniques, and expressive progressions.
Attire: Students should wear leotards and tights or leggings. Hair should be secured back in a ponytail or bun. Students should be barefoot.

Musical Theatre is a jazz-based class filled with Broadway style dancing and music. Classes incorporate dance technique and acting activities.
Attire: Students should wear leotards and tights or leggings. Jazz shoes or barefeet are required. Hair should be secured back in a ponytail or bun.

This class is for the youngest dancers. It is filled with creative movement activities and basic dance techniques to foster a love and understanding of dance at an early age.

Stretch/Leaps/Turns is a class focused on stretching, strengthening, and refining technical skills needed for specific jumps and turns.

Tap is an energetic form of dance that focuses on rhythm and percussion. This class develops the elements of tap dance vocabulary, musicality, coordination, and individual style in a fun and challenging way.
