Meet the Directors

Our Story

Katy and Michelle both grew up in Sussex county, NJ. They spent their early dance years competing for acclaimed studios in the area; Katy at Dance by Kempson and Michelle at Fabulous Feet Dance Academy.  The pair met as teachers in 2009 at a local studio in Sparta. They became quick friends through their mutual love of dance and their shared philosophies of educating children. The two dreamed of having a studio of their own together and after 14 years, and working for two different studios together, this dream is finally a reality.


  • Director

    Katy Guth has been educating and training young dancers for over 20 years. Along with her extensive teaching experience she was the director of a prominent dance studio for 10 years.

    Katy began dancing at the age of three and competing at the age of eight. Her training focused on Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical and Musical Theatre. She is well known in the community for her work with young dancers. Katy both trained and taught under the late Voigt Kempson whom inspired her to own her own studio one day. She continued her dance education at Broadway Dance Center in New York City and dance seminars hosted by Dance Masters of America and Dance Educators of America.

    Katy began her teaching career in 2001 while attending East Stroudsburg University of PA. In addition to her teaching experience, with expertise teaching young children and teens, Katy has also worked in both the public and private schools as a para professional and a preschool teacher.

    Katy is an established choreographer and has received numerous awards recognizing her work. She strives to create a welcoming studio environment where all dancers feel inspired, motivated and confident .


  • Director

    Michelle Kane (Paradise) began dancing at the age of 3. Her training included Tap, Jazz, Lyrical and Ballet. She was a member of an award-winning competition team and a youth Ballet performance company. Michelle attended the County College of Morris, where she received the Outstanding Performance and Choreography award. At CCM, her choreography was selected to represent the school at the American College Dance Festival. Michelle continued her education at Montclair State University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in Dance Education.

    She currently holds a Standard NJ Teaching License in Dance K-12 and has been a dance teacher for the Orange Public Schools district since 2010. Apart from her college training, she has worked with master teachers at Broadway Dance Center and the American Tap Dance Foundation. She has performed choreography by Michelle Dorrance and Brenda Bufalino at Symphony Space in NYC.

    Michelle’s students and choreography have received numerous special awards, including “Most Entertaining” and “Best Choreography”. Michelle believes in educating the whole child, allowing them to grow and thrive in a positive environment through dance education.

Faculty & Choreographers

  • Alexander Dutko received his pre-professional training on full scholarship at the Nutmeg Conservatory of the Arts, School of American Ballet, and the Kirov Academy in D.C. In 2001, Alexander was named an A.B.T. National Training Scholar. He was the first male dancer to win the regional Youth Grand Prix award at YAGP, the world’s largest international ballet competition, and was among the “Top 6” finalists at the 2003 Youth America Grand Prix's New York City Finals in Lincoln Center. In 2004, Alexander was the first of 10 dancers invited to join the inaugural class of the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School at American Ballet Theatre. While at the school he was given the opportunity to dance in the 10th Anniversary Studio Company Gala at Lincoln Center, in the premiere of Jessica Lang's Veiled Calling. Upon graduating from the school, Alexander accepted a corps de ballet position in Miami City Ballet, under the direction of Edward Villella, performing and touring nationally in such ballets as Balanchine's Prodigal Son, Symphony in C, Serenade, Western Symphony, and the Nutcracker, Twyla Tharp's In the Upper Room, Paul Taylor's Funny Papers, and Villella's Don Quixote and Giselle. In the spring of 2007, Alexander choreographed his first ballet Venia for Miami City Ballet. In the fall of 2007, he became a member of Ballet Gamonet- Maximum Dance Company in Miami, performing soloist and principal roles in new works by Jimmy Gamonet de los Heros and Jerry Opdenaker. In 2009, Alexander became a principal dancer with the American Repertory Ballet where he has performed numerous soloist and principal roles in Douglas Martin’s: The Nutcracker, title role in the Firebird, Midsummer Night’s Dream, Romeo and Juliet, and Rite of Spring, Gerald Arpino’s Confetti and Viva Vivaldi, Patrick Corbin’s Follia, Kirk Peterson’s: The Eyes That Gently Touch, Afternoon of the Faun, Raymonda and Tears of the Moon, Twyla Tharp’s: Baker’s Dozen, Philip Jerry’s: Our Town and Mary Barton’s: Straight Up with a Twist and 5 Men and a Concerto. In 2011, Mr. Dutko performed as a soloist in the Career Transitions Gala at City Center in NYC, which was hosted by Nigel Lythgoe and Chita Rivera. In 2014, he became the founding Artistic Director of BalletCNJ in Hamilton, NJ. While Director, he started NJ’s first Daytime Professional Training Program in addition to overseeing the school’s Professional Programs. His students went on to compete in YAGP, YAGP Finals, and the Miami International Ballet Competition, where they won top prizes, medals, and scholarships including the Hope, Youth Grand Prix, Grand Prix awards. At these competitions, he received the Outstanding Teacher award for three consecutive years in addition to Outstanding Choreographer. In 2022, Alexander traveled to the Prix de Lausanne in Switzerland, where his student was selected as a finalist and is now in the corps de ballet of the Paris Opera Ballet. Mr. Dutko’s former students have gone on to train with the world’s top schools and have become professional dancers with the San Francisco Ballet, Philadelphia Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, Atlanta Ballet, and the Paris Opera Ballet to name a few. Alexander continues his dedication to inspiring, mentoring, and training the next generation of top performers, passionate dancers, and unforgettable artists.

  • Nick started his dance training at an early age in California and was awarded a full scholarship to Pacific Northwest Ballet. As a member of a competition dance team, he received numerous awards regionally and nationally in solos and group routines. Nick has performed as a dancer, acrobat and aerial artist on many cruises for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines and has entertained audiences around the world with his energetic dance style. While working professionally in California, Nick was signed with DDO Artists Agency. His professional accomplishments also include dancing in the Rose Parade, performing for a Sketchers Industrial, and the National Tour of Moving Out choreographed by Twyla Tharp. Nick has been offered leading roles to perform for Tokyo Disney, Disneyland, and Cirque Du Soleil in Las Vegas. He has trained with choreographers such as Mia Michaels, Mandy Moore, and Terri Best. Nick's choreography has won numerous regional and national awards including: Most Entertaining, Acro Excellence and Creative Choreography. 

  • Amanda Molina is a native of Sparta, New Jersey. She completed her early dance training at The Dance Academy of North Jersey where she received a diverse dance education. Upon graduating high school, she attended SUNY Purchase. She recently graduated summa cum laude with a BFA from their Conservatory of Dance. While attending Purchase, Amanda performed works by Rosalind Newman, Rena Butler, Roderick George, Dorchel Haqq, Doug Varone and Jason Reese Cianciulli. She was also selected to study abroad for a semester at London Contemporary Dance School. Amanda has furthered her training at summer intensives including Joffrey Ballet School, Steps on Broadway, Ballet Hispánico and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago for three years. She is currently a Trainee with Peridance Contemporary Dance Company, where she has performed works by Igal Perry, Jessica Lang, and Nicholas Palmquist. In addition to performing, Amanda has a love for choreographing and teaching dance!

  • Stephanie Nunziato-Virga began her dance training at age six at the Ballet Barre School of Dance. At the Ballet Barre Stephanie trained and competed in ballet/point, tap, jazz, lyrical, and modern until the age of 17. At the Ballet Barre Stephanie trained through the Royal Academy of Dance curriculum and received highest designation on her annual ballet examination. Stephanie had the opportunity to perform The Nutcracker with the Donetsk Ballet Company of Ukraine at age 8. Stephanie trained with the American Academy of Ballet summer intensive camp at Vassar College. Stephanie has also trained in some ballroom, salsa, and Tahitian dance. Stephanie is also an avid country line-dancer. Stephanie graduated from Rutgers University with a bachelor degree in genetics. While at Rutgers she was a member of Rutgers Performing Dance Company and took multiple credits in modern, ballet, and dance through Mason Gross School of Arts. Stephanie is a former dance instructor at Starstruck Dance Studio in Stirling NJ where she worked with their youngest dancers just starting their dance journey.

    Stephanie attended Newton High School, participated in the school plays/local community theatre, and played varsity softball/swimming. While at Rutgers she was a varsity letter winner for the Division I Rowing Team.

    Stephanie received her masters degree in genetic counseling through university of Pittsburgh. Outside the studio, Stephanie is a full-time hereditary cancer genetic counselor.

  • Hannah Ramos, a native to Sparta NJ, started her dance training at a young age with EDA’s very own Miss Katy and Miss Michelle. Throughout high school Hannah trained in New York City with the Steps on Broadway Pre-Professional division and the Pre-Professional dance company, Z Artists Group. During her high school career, Hannah performed for the Chita Rivera Awards, NBC’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, and the Aditya Birla Corporate Award Show in Mumbai, India. Currently, Hannah is pursuing a BFA in Dance, with a minor in Musical Theater, at Point Park University. In her time at Point Park thus far, she has performed works by Christopher Huggins, Maud Arnold, and Justin Myles.

  • Kierstyn Edore, a North Jersey native, graduated from Montclair State University with her B.F.A. in Dance and a Minor in Psychology. She is a founding member of KM Dance Collective, and is currently dancing with Freespace Dance Company. Kierstyn has danced for events including APAP 2023, the Capezio ACE Awards, NJPAC Emerging Choreographers, and the Chita Rivera Awards. She has been a featured choreographer across school districts and dance studios for both concert and competitive work. She has worked closely with renowned artists Stefanie Batten Bland, Yusha-Marie Sorzano, Dolly Sfeir, Samantha Spies, Michelle Manzanales, Jaclyn Walsh, Christian von Howard, and Jason Luks.

  • Sondra Steiner, raised in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, started her early and extensive dance career at the Budzynski Studios of Ballet. She trained with The Pennsylvania Ballet School, now known as The Rock School, and performed with The Pennsylvania Ballet. Sondra was accepted, under scholarship, to multiple summer intensive programs. These include: The Boston Ballet, Richmond Ballet, BalletMet, Joffrey Ballet, Nashville Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet, and the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. She attended college at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts as a ballet major. During her time there, she had the honor of being selected to travel abroad and perform with The Hungarian Ballet Academy in Budapest, Hungary. That same year, she was chosen to dance in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics closing ceremonies. Following her attendance at the North Carolina School of the Arts, Sondra toured with the Ballet Theatre of Pennsylvania. Additionally, she was a guest principal dancer with the Dance Theatre of Pennsylvania. Sondra has studied and worked with world-renowned teachers such as Melissa Hayden, Gloria Govrin, Trinette Singleton, Christopher d’Amboise, Jacques d’Amboise, David Howard, Fernando Bujones, Roy Kaiser, Barbara Sandonato, and many more. Sondra’s past repertoire includes principal, soloist, and corps roles in the ballets Paquita, Coppelia, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, La Fille Mal Gardee, Dracula, The Nutcracker, La Sylphide, Giselle, and Petrushka. She has also performed in many contemporary pieces. After retiring from touring, Sondra continued her passion by teaching at several dance studios in the Philadelphia area. She was also a rehearsal mistress for The Dance Theatre of Pennsylvania. Over the past twenty years, Sondra has trained hundreds of dancers in groups and private lessons.

Office Staff

  • Leah has been a dance mom for almost 10 years; mastering costume changes, false eyelashes and hairspray. She brings her customer service, multitasking and office management experience from her “Day Job” working in local government and volunteering for her local Fire Department for over 20 years. She has worked at a dance studio reception desk for 5 years and loves crafting, working on costumes and helping the kids just like they are her own.

  • A dance mom for over 10 years, Catherine (or Miss Cat) loves all stages of dance. From the itty bitties to the competition teens, Miss Cat can help buckle a pair of tap shoes or glue on a set of eye lashes. As a middle school teacher, Miss Cat thrives on the hustle and bustle of the unknown and is excited to help make your dancer shine.
